Is Jesus God?
The identity of Jesus Christ is the central question of the Christian faith. Everything—atonement, salvation, worship, and the very definition of the gospel— rests on whether He is truly God.
Scripture does not hesitate: Christ is divine. He bears the names of God, exercises the works of God, receives the worship due only to God, and possesses the attributes that belong uniquely to deity.
The early church did not invent Christ’s divinity; it recognized what Scripture already proclaimed. From “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God” (John 1:1) to Thomas’s confession, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28), the testimony is consistent and unmistakable: Jesus is God incarnate.
